The
Report of the English Academy held on 21st November, 2014 in the MSC
Auditorium
The
session of the day commenced with a short prayer led by Bro. Sushanto which was
followed by a melodious bhajan sung by Bro. Sushanto who was accompanied
by Bro. Lazarus on the tabla. The President of the Academy read out the
previous report after which he extended a hearty welcome to the assembly
gathered for the day. He presentedthe agenda of the day: Extempore Speech
which wason various topics such as ‘Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder,’ ‘Why
a sense of humor is important?’ and so forth. The Chairperson of the session
was Bro. Arun Raj. The judges were Bro. RajenKujur, Sanjay Kisku and Sunil
Hansda.
Fr.
B L Mathai, the Moderatoracknowledged the speakers for their creativity in
thinking, articulation, and projection of ideas and insights.Besides, he
suggested that Extempore Speech must be either for the Third Years or Second
Years and be kept at the end of the academic year. Itwas
indeed a memorable day. The session came to an end with a short prayer of
thanksgiving by the President. It was a happy ending.
